Meet The Central Dermatology Team of Doctors
All of our providers have extensive backgrounds in the
diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the hair, skin and nails.

Dr. Beth Goldstein graduated with a
Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of
Georgia in Athens, Georgia. She received her medical
degree and specialty training at the Medical College of
Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Goldstein is an Adjunct
Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of
Dermatology at the University of North Carolina. She
practiced in Cary, North Carolina from 1990-1993 before
opening Central Dermatology Center in Chapel Hill in 1993.
She has a special interest in skin cancer prevention
through education as well as skin rejuvenation.

Dr. Jennelle Williams graduated Valedictorian with
a Bachelor of Arts from Mary Baldwin College in Stanton,
Virginia. She received her medical degree from University
of Virginia where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha
Honor Society. She completed her internship of internal
medicine at University of California San Francisco before
completing her dermatology residency at University of
Virginia. Dr. Williams joined a general dermatology
practice in central Virginia where she worked for three
years.
She has been a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Duke
Medical Center and attending at the Durham Veterans
Administration Hospital prior to joining Central
Dermatology. Her interests include pigmented lesions as
well as melanoma and skin cancer surveillance. She has
been at Central Dermatology Center since November, 1999.
Dr. Williams also enjoys her cosmetic practice through
Carolina Medi-Spa including laser treatments, Botox, and
dermal fillers.

Dr. Maya Bilic Jonas
graduated from Case Western Reserve University in
Cleveland, OH with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She
received her medical degree and specialty training in
dermatology at the University of Cincinnati College of
Medicine where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha
Honor Society. During her specialty training she received
the Ruth and Mitchell Ede Award for Excellence in the
Field of Dermatology and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation
Award for Humanism in Medicine. Dr. Jonas is
interested in adult and pediatric medical dermatology and
skin cancer surgery. |

Dr. David Todd DeVries graduated from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a
Bachelors of Arts in English Literature. He received
a Masters of Arts in English Literature from the
University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed
his internship in Internal Medicine at Brown Medical
School and received his specialty training in Dermatology
at the University of Rochester. He is interested in adult
and pediatric medical dermatology along with skin cancer
surveillance and surgery. |

Cathy Wheeley, RN is a Registered Nurse who
received her nursing degree from Robeson Community
College, Lumberton, North Carolina. Cathy was most
recently employed in the Mohs Surgery Unit at the Duke
Aesthetic Center. Previously she helped establish a
cosmetic Dermatology component within our practice, and
was the Nursing Coordinator for Dermatology,
Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, and the Wound Management
clinics at the Duke Private Diagnostic Clinic. She is a
member of the Dermatology Nurses Association and served as
the 1996 North Carolina Chapter President. With 15 years
of Dermatology nursing experience, she provides many
services offered by our practice, including laser hair
reduction, microdermabrasion, superficial chemical peels,
photorejuvenation using Intense Pulsed Light, and
sclerotherapy for treatment of leg veins.

Kathryn Jackson, RN is a Registered Nurse who
graduated from the University of North Carolina at
Greensboro in 1993. Kathryn’s background includes eleven
years of nursing experience at Duke University Medical
Center. She is a member of Dermatology Nurses Association.
Kathryn offers years of training and experience in
providing laser specialty services for hair removal, skin
rejuvenation and resurfacing, facial vein and pigment
correction. Kathryn’s experience also includes chemical
peels, microdermabrasion and leg vein sclerotherapy. |

Anne Taylor Casperson, PA-C is a
certified physician assistant from Shelby, NC. She
graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from UNC-Chapel
Hill in 2003. She worked as a medical assistant for two
years at Central Dermatology Center before going to Wake
Forest University School of Medicine where she earned a
Master of Medical Science. |

Laura Z. Phillips, PA-C is a certified
physician assistant from Charlotte, NC. She graduated with
a Chemistry degree from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill. In 2005, she earned her Masters of
Physician Assistant at the Medical University of South
Carolina at Charleston. Prior to joining Central
Dermatology, she worked at a dermatology practice in
Charlotte. |

Sarah Sidiqi, M.S.N.,F.N.P., is a Nurse
Practitioner of Carolina Medi Spa. Board certified by the
American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse
Practitioner (FNP), Ms. Sidiqi received her Master’s of
Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill in 2003. She was the recipient of the James
M. Johnson Scholarship awarded to qualified students
demonstrating leadership potential and excellence in
academics. Prior to joining us at Carolina Medi Spa, Ms.
Sidiqi practiced at a Medical Spa, delivering aesthetic
medicine for over a year. Before her work in Aesthetics
she practiced as a pain management Nurse Practitioner at
Duke University Medical Center. Previous to receiving her
FNP Ms Sidiqi practiced for several years as a staff nurse
at Duke University Hospital and she worked in several
areas, including the plastic and reconstructive surgical
unit and the orthopedic unit. Ms. Sidiqi also practiced as
a staff nurse in Anchorage, Alaska after she completed her
undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska,
Anchorage in 1997. She graduated with leadership honors
and was elected to Sigma Theta Tau, a national honor
society for nurses, which recognizes and perpetuates
excellence in the nursing profession.
Ms. Sidiqi joined our team at Central Dermatology in
December 2007 and is passionate about helping her clients
look and feel their best. Ms. Sidiqi resides in Durham,
North Carolina with her husband and their two children. |

Karin Hipp, PA-C is a certified
physician assistant who has been practicing dermatology
since 2001. After receiving her master’s degree from
DeSales University, Karin was formally trained in
dermatology at Johns Hopkins University. She has worked in
a private practice setting, as well as academic, to gain
valuable skills in all aspects of dermatology. Her most
recent experience of specialized training at Duke
University Medical Center has helped broaden her knowledge
in the field of melanoma and pigmented lesions. Karin
enjoys both cosmetic and medical dermatology, with a
special interest in skin cancer and facial rejuvenation.
She resides in Chapel Hill with her husband and two dogs. |
